The Clinical Coordinator III in the Department of Surgery for the Division of Surgical Oncology in Breast Cancer Center will be responsible for the completion of patient’s history and physical, development, and implementation of a pre- and post-op education program. The incumbent will support ongoing clinical functions of the Breast Surgery Service to provide compassionate patient-centered care. The candidate will be responsible for the case management of patients, including coordination of evaluation of diagnostic testing, reviewing lab reports, and supervising direct patient care. In addition, s/he will also facilitate hospital discharges, including coordination of home care services and patient education. S/he also serves as the liaison for the Breast Surgery Service and the volunteer program, the patient navigator program, breast imaging, multidisciplinary clinical services, and clinical administration.
Requires a bachelor’s degree or equivalent in education and experience, plus four (4) years of related experience. Degree in nursing and nurse practitioner license required.
Must be detailed oriented and work well in groups, with excellent oral and written skills and the interpersonal skills necessary to communicate effectively with patients and families and work effectively with MDs, RNs, and other hospital disciplines. Breast health experience preferred.
