Clinical Laboratory Scientist  Job Description:

Location: Ukiah, California area
Salary: $30-$36 plus shift differentials of $4.25 (grave), $1.25 (weekend)
Shifts: (1) Monday through Thursday Graveyard shift (2) Friday, Saturday, Sunday 12 hour Day shift (3) Friday, Saturday, Sunday 12 hour Graveyard shift
Relocation package of $1,000-$2,500 dependent on family size

Our client, an established company in the greater Ukiah, California area, has immediate need for a Clinical Laboratory Scientist. Candidates would be responsible for performing pre-analytical, analytical and post-analytical procedures as well as providing analyses of data for health maintenance, treatment, diagnoses and monitoring of medical conditions. In this position, the Clinical Laboratory Scientist would be working directly under the laboratory director.

Requirements:

-Baccalaureate degree in Clinical Lab Sciences or related field
-Current California State Clinical Laboratory Scientist License
-At least 2 years of related field experience including Hematology, Urinalysis, Chemistry, Blood Bank and Bacteriology preferred
-Must have recent experience working in Blood Bank
-Literate in computer applications preferred
-Ability to present information well to small group situations (customers, clients, and employees)

Tasks/Duties:

- Verify the proper specimen being analyzed for patients and perform correct tests that need to be completed.
- Analyze clinical laboratory specimens following the standard methods and procedures
- Performs quality control procedures to ensure accuracy of clinical data
- Validates test results through correlation with test parameters (platelet count/smear, anion gap, Hgb/Hct, dipstick/micro, etc.
- Complete routine preventive maintenance and troubleshooting on instruments and equipment
- Trains laboratory assistants on proper techniques and procedures related to clinical laboratory practice
