Work at St. Louis University Hospital and the Jefferson Barracks VA Hospital and aid in patient recruitment and coordinate patient flow at the geriatric clinics.  Administer the baseline, six-week and twelve-week evaluations of patients.  Obtain health history, informed consent and other documentation and tests from participants.  Responsible for ensuring that all study documentation is recorded, handled and stored to allow accurate reporting, interpretation and verification.  Serve as patient advocate, ensuring the rights, safety, well-being and confidentiality of patients and ensure that the benefits of the study outweigh any risks to the patient.  Make sure that any medical decisions and care are brought to the attention of the appropriate responsible qualified health care professionals.  Complete IRB study close documentation and make any appropriate notifications to the study subjects, research team and others as necessary.  Work with the underserved population of geriatric patients at the SLU/VA hospitals; also help train the interns and residents; ensure quality and compliance with study protocols.  Become credentialed at the VA for a research work without compensation (WOC) appointment and at St. Louis University Hospital.  Complete training classes prior to any appointments.

Registered Nurse degree (BSN), Master’s degree in clinical trial coordinating preferred, plus previous experience in healthcare and research.
