Clinical Pharmacist

  • Clinical Pharmacists at Tufts Medical Center work closely with other health practitioners to meet the various needs of our patients. The department's long-standing, effective relationship with physicians and nurses provides a friendly, collaborative and nurturing environment where pharmacists truly participate in making therapeutic decisions for every patient. Pharmacists review and approve medication orders, monitor drug therapies, and provide drug information. Clinical pharmacists supervise pharmacy technicians while on duty. They are responsible for checking all medications prior to dispensing, checking all sterile products to dispensing and pyxis refill deliveries, and enter physicians' orders into the inpatient pharmacy system. May assume the responsibilities and perform duties of the pharmacy manager. Other skills required are computer, interpersonal, and communication skills. 2-3 years of hospital experience, B.S. in Pharmacy or Pharmacy Doctorate, and MA license is required.
