Clinical Pharmacy Technician

 

We are currently seeking 20+ Clinical Pharmacy Technicians for an exciting, new initiative at our Riverport location in Maryland Heights, MO.  We are actively pursuing candidates to fill 20 positions with a scheduled start date of January 4th 2010.  In addition, we anticipate the creation of additional 20 openings to begin February 1st.  Apply today and start the New Year with a new promising career!

 

Job Description

 

In this role, you will be responsible for:

 

·         Evaluating and authorizing approval of prior authorization pharmacy requests from prescribers received by telephone and/or facsimile using client clinical criteria as well as determining appropriateness for medications.

·         Communicating decisions, authorization criteria, pharmacy benefit coverage and formulary alternatives to physicians, physician’s office staff, medical management staff and/or pharmacists.

·         Escalates requests to Pharmacist when request requires extensive clinical review or denial.

·         Researches, resolves and documents physician or client inquiries and grievances and provides verbal or written results to client, prescriber, provider and/or management.      

 

 

Job Requirements

 

In order to be successful in this role, you must possess the following:

 

  • Education: HS/GED
  • Experience: 1-3yrs.; minimum of 6 months in retail, hospital or facility pharmacy setting
  • Licenses, Certifications: PTCB Certification
