HealthSouth Rehabilitation Hospital of Colorado Springs is a 56-bed free-standing hospital designed and built to provide comprehensive rehabilitation for people who are medically and physically disabled. Our mission is to guide patients with physically disabling conditions along a comprehensive and individualized treatment pathway so they can reach the highest level of physical, social, and emotional well-being. We offer a wide range of specialized medical and therapeutic services for: Stroke, Brain Injury, Parkinson's, Multiple Sclerosis, Orthopedic, and Sleep Disorders delivered by experienced professionals.
Job Description
The Clinical Social Worker provides counseling/psychological services to patients and families in an appropriate and timely manner and provides assessment services, triage and referral for psychological interventions. The Clinical Social Worker works with the interdisciplinary team to develop strategies to enhance patient participation in the rehabilitation program. The position provides patient and family education on mental health issues, identifies appropriate resources, and assists with referral to social support programs in the community.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
License or Certification:
* CCSW, LICSW preferred or as required by state law
Total Education, Vocational Training and Experience:
* Masters Degree in Social Work
* At least 2 years of social work experience in a medical/healthcare setting,
* Will be expected to use a variety of highly developed skills in individual and/or group methods.
Machines, Equipment Used:
* General office equipment such as telephone, copy machine, fax machine, calculator, computer.
Physical Requirements:
* Good visual acuity and ability to communicate
* Ability to lift, push, pull, and retrieve approximately 10 percent of the time.
* Ability to safely lift objects weighing up to 30 pounds.
* Ability to demonstrate safe retrieval skills from above head to floor level with objects up to ten pounds.
Skills and Abilities:
* Ability to speak, read, write and comprehend English.
* Ability to coordinate, analyze, observe, make decisions, and meet deadlines in a detail-oriented manner
* Ability to communicate effectively in both writing and verbal arenas as well as via email.
* Ability to work independently without supervision.
Environmental Conditions:
* Indoor, temperature controlled, smoke-free environment. Occasional outdoor exposure
* Exposure or potential exposure to blood and body fluids may be required.
* Handicapped accessibility.
* May work under stressful circumstances at times.
Proficiency or Productivity Standards:
* May be required to work weekdays and/or weekends, evenings and or night shifts if needed to meet deadlines.
* May be required to work on religious and/or legal holidays on scheduled days/shifts.
* Will be required to work as necessary during disaster situations, i.e. before, during or after a disaster.
* May be required to stay after workday to assist after a disaster situation until relief arrives.
* Regular attendance and reporting on time to work is a requirement of position.
