| Job Description: | Clinical Trainer develops and presents training related to the clinical information systems used at Hospital. Working with Manager Training, identifies specific collateral required and method of training. Provides training in a variety of settings, including classroom, meeting, and one-on-one situations using different training methods and media. Supports analysis of training needs of various physician and clinical user populations. Provides support and input into Information Technologies (IT) training strategy. Projects an image of professionalism in communication, appearance and conduct. Supports the organization's mission and strategic goals. Participates in the continuous quality improvement process. Maintains a working knowledge of departmental standard operating procedures; this knowledge may include the use of specialized instrumentation. Essential Functions: •Apply training and computer application skills and knowledge of hospital and ambulatory workflows to create and facilitate specialized training programs for assigned customers. •Provide end-user support in a variety of sessions: large groups, small groups, one on one. •Participates in application testing, simulations, and go-live activities including production support of new projects or production enhancements. •Work with the clinical community at Hoag and end-users to customize training classes as needed. •Participates in Trainer On-Call (TOC) program only as needed and provides customer service to assigned clinical and non-clinical communities. •Responsible for the creation of training components as directed by others. •Responsible for delivery of training and development programs to all levels of end-users. •Involved in training needs assessment process. Develops documentation for custom applications and packaged applications, using a variety of mediums as needed. •Supports design of training programs, classes, workshops, and Computer Based Training Training (CBT), virtual classroom training, and on-line help. •Delivers training to a variety of audiences, understanding and applying adult learning principles. •Position may require travel between various Hoag Hospital locations and its affiliates. •Position may require participation in 24/7 department on-call program. On-call employees are required to carry a department issued cellular phone or pager, respond to calls within 15 minutes, troubleshoot problem and provide services off-site as needed and be available to provide services on-site as needed within 1 ½ hours of being called or paged to respond. •Position may require participating in meetings outside of normal business hours including occasional evenings and/or weekends. •Position is located in a support department which operates a call center 24 hours a day, seven days a week to provide support and service. Operations include 1st, 2nd and 3rd shifts. Employees may be required to pick up shifts outside of their standard assignment for coverage due to vacations, holidays, staff shortages, or other special circumstances as determined by leadership. |
