The McGraw-Hill owned ABC affiliate in Indianapolis seeks a motivated, dedicated, aggressive and enthusiastic Closed Caption Specialist/Voice writer.  The successful candidate will report to the Closed Captioning Supervisor. The Closed Captioning Specialist/Voice writer is responsible for creating closed captions in live, live-to-tape and post production environments, using CaptionMic Broadcast system or similar captioning software, audio phone taps, amplifiers, audio/video router, headsets and studio microphones while maintaining minimum or better standards of caption accuracy as established in Closed Captioning Unit policy.
 
Provide regular communication and refer developing issues to Closed Captioning Supervisor and or Digital Service Center Manager as needed.  Cultivate and maintain good working knowledge of Newsroom operations which include live shots, Vosots, key political figures, and the relationships to content creators.  The Closed Captioning Specialist will maintain a positive relationship with community groups and local media to help identify and implement cause-related hearing impaired opportunities and act as an ambassador for the community affairs efforts of McGraw-Hill Broadcasting.  
 
This is a part-time position (20 hours per week).


Qualified candidate will have a clear speaking voice, bachelor's degree preferable in Journalism or related field, above average knowledge of English grammar, syntax and pronunciation. Prior experience working for a television news station, daily newspaper or in an on-line news environment a plus.
