What Ops Excellence - BB Program contributes to CareFusion
Operational Excellence is responsible for identifying and executing against performance improvement opportunities, supporting successful implementations within the enterprise, and building people capabilities within CareFusion, using contemporary performance improvement tools.
What is expected of you for success in your role
- Demonstrates understanding of contemporary performance improvement tools
- May be enrolled in a formal Lean or Black Belt program
- Assesses current business performance for a specific site and/or function
- Works with a team of business practitioners to develop improvement recommendations
- Leads the execution of pre-determined action plans
- Trains Kaizan Leaders
- Assists with Green Belt training
What is expected of you and others at this level in Quality & Regulatory Affairs for functional success
- Works to understand complex functional situations by paying attention to the details of the tasks at hand and by breaking them down into smaller pieces
- Proactively develops and maintains broad knowledge of the technical disciplines in own functional area(s); applies broad knowledge of trends and best practices in a manner that ensures exceptional performance and results.
- Uses deep subject matter/functional expertise, influence and process skills to help internal/external customers and stakeholders identify and meet their high priority needs while considering cultural and diversity implications.
- Encourages informed Risk-taking and acts as a catalyst for innovation at CareFusion; generates practical, sustainable and creative options to solve problems and create business opportunities, while maximizing existing resources.
- Champions and leads change initiatives; identifies the best approach for implementing strategic processes in light of cultural and diversity
Accountabilities in this role
- Masters Degree in Business Administration or quality related field is preferred. Bachelor's of Science in Engineering, or Life Sciences is required.
- Must have a minimum of 5 years of Lean Six Sigma experience with hands on experience implementing, and coaching.
- Six Sigma Certification is Mandatory
- In depth Lean experience is required for this position
- Must have functional knowledge and management experience with quality, reliability, and customer satisfaction systems and processes (5+ years of performance improvement and business management related experience).
- Lean implementation experience is required.
- Certification as a Lean Master is desireable
- Will be intimately familiar with Lean Principles, Project Management, and DMAIC.
- Desirable, experience and exposure to QMS (ISO 9000), Malcolm Baldrige, Strategic Quality Planning, Quality Information Systems, Quality Metrics, Quality Data Analysis, Product Reliability, New Product Information Processes, SPC, FMEA, QFD, and the entire set of quality tools required in large organizations.
- Exemplary interpersonal skills with an ability to communicate at all levels to maintain relationships and cooperation in pursuing organizational goals. Must be able to influence, negotiate, and resolve conflicts to reach consensus around common goals.

- Bachelor's degree strongly recommended
- Advanced degree preferred
- 4-6 years experience
