Codes and Safety Lead  Engineer: Seeking candidate with a strong ability to lead and the technical savvy to ensure products conform to requirements.  If you're interested in having a direct impact on quality, safety, performance and value, then this is the position for you.  We need someone who is highly motivated, has a strong eye for detail, and an engineering background.

Brief Overview: Responsible for leading and conducting Codes and Safety Approval Programs for products intended for sale in domestic and International markets.
 
Note:  Position may be filled at Project Engineer, Senior Engineer, or Lead Engineer level depending on qualifications of the successful candidate.

In this position, you'll have the opportunity to:
Evaluate product designs and provide design guidance as needed for conformance to Codes/Regulatory agency and company requirements.
Obtain/maintain Certification by national and international agencies.
Ensure design practices and factory procedures conform to company and agency specifications.
Analyze all new and modified designs which may be preliminary concepts, to determine safety and agency compliance. Actions could involve recommending Standards changes to accommodate new design concepts, or revising current designs to accommodate changing Standards and Specifications.
Participate in Design Previews, Safety Audits, Failure Analyses, Cost Reduction and Special Projects requiring technical and negotiating skills.
Work effectively with Engineering Support Functions, Cost and Quality Teams, Manufacturing, Launch & Mega Teams to ensure agency approvals for timely implementation of projects.
 
What you need to succeed in this position: (Education, Experience, Knowledge & Skills):
BSEE with a proven record of accomplishment in Product Design and Analysis and a good understanding of electrical and material properties.
The candidate must have strong analytical and problem solving skills, with ability to interpret established standards requirements and their applicability to products.
The position requires strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively at all levels within company and to outside agencies.
A thorough knowledge of refrigerator design/testing and experience working directly with Underwriters Laboratories is highly desirable

The candidate must be able to travel on short notice - domestic or international.
