Monitors the coding and overall maintenance of records and tracts data related to patient status. Ensures that all health information management practices meet state standards. Lead and directs the work of the department.

Monitors the coding and overall maintenance of records and tracks data related to coding initiatives. The activities are described as but not limited to the Health Management Report (HMR) program, Comprehensive Medical Chart Review (CMCR) program, Patient Inquiry Report (PIR) program, 360 Exam. Ensures that all data abstraction received meets all compliance requirements for entry, quality checks, and storage of all medical records received.

Minimum Requirements: High School Diploma/Equivalent. At least three years experience in a Managed Care Environment. Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.

Preferred Requirements: Bachelors’ Degree. Prior supervisory experience. Coding certification (CCS-P, CPC, RHIT, RHIA, CCS, etc.).
