Cognos Data Warehouse Architect

Our client is seeking a Cognos Data Warehouse Architect who will provide support of the existing production version of the Data Warehouse. This individual will be responsible for ensuring that the nightly loads that feed the warehouse are successful and that the system is up and ready for access for the users. He/She will assist users in setting up their access to the warehouse and answering questions on data. The candidate will work with the data warehouse business analysts in developing future enhancements for the warehouse. As part of these efforts, this person will be responsible for maintaining the current data warehouse architecture.

 

Responsibilities:

· Maintain the overall architecture of the data warehouse

· Ensure future enhancements to the data warehouse fit within the existing architect

· Participate in future development and enhancements for the data warehouse

· Monitoring Schedules/processes

· Monitoring ETL Performance

· Install and support software upgrades

· Assist database tuning and routine database maintenance

· Support data loads and extracts to and from Cognos Finance

· Support and enhance database reporting architecture

 

The individual must have familiarity with the following:

Cognos BI and DW experience

Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or Business Management.

Conceptual knowledge of data structures, algorithms, software architectures, and database systems (Oracle or SQL Server).

Must have excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills as well as strong analysis skills.
