Collection Representatives Wanted

Nationwide Recovery Systems is seeking an experienced Collections Representatives.  You must be detail oriented, focused, and have a working knowledge of collections processes. You must have strong interpersonal skills, high energy, and take personal responsibility for your work.  We work in an open, energetic environment in which employees work in close proximity to one another.   Are you up for the challenge?

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Duties include the following:  (Other duties may be assigned)

  • Call volume ranges from 150 to 200 calls per day
  • Persuade debtors to pay their outstanding bill
  • Negotiate fees and terms of agreement
  • Adhere to policies, procedures, and laws pertaining to Consumer Collections

Job Requirements/Preferences

Education and Experience:
  • High School Diploma or G.E.D. certificate preferred (not required)
  • Some college course work preferred
  • At least 1+ years experience in the collections industry
  • Demonstrate assertiveness and persuasiveness
  • Must be a self-starter who enjoys a fast-paced atmosphere
  • Must be motivated to excel, with an open mind to change
  • Must be willing to adapt to our professional collections process and style, not taking “no” as a viable answer
  • Must be resilient to rejection
  • Excellent attention to detail
Skills:
  • Possess strong communication, analytical, and negotiating skills
  • Able to navigate User Friendly Collection software
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Highly effective in working with a diverse group of people and must demonstrate communication, organizational, administrative, and office managerial skills
  • Must be a team player willing to accept and promote organizational goals and function with minimal supervision
  • Computer skills required
Language Skills
  • Ability to clearly read, write, and speak English
  • Bilingual in Spanish Preferred
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret financial documents, legal documents, and financial reports 
  • Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from clients, employees, and management team
Mathematical Skills:
  • Basic mathematical skills, including but not excluding addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, percentages, ratios, and proportions in practical solutions
Reasoning Ability:
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions 
Environmental Factors and Physical Requirements:
  • Requires extensive use of keyboard involving repetitive motions with fingers, sitting for prolonged periods of time, and extensive use of the telephone and face-to-face communication that requires accurate perception of speech as well as talking and hearing
  • Requires the ability to frequently visit employee workstations and other work areas
  • Requires close vision, distant vision, and the ability to adjust focus
  • Requires the ability to work in a work environment where there is moderate to extreme noise and consists of a large open area with other employees engaged in phone conversations sitting in close proximity
  • Requires the ability to focus in a highly charged and noisy environment
