We have an exciting opportunity searching for a Commercial Banking Officer III to join our Commercial Banking Group in Bakersfield, CA. This individual will be responsible for facilitating, preparing, structuring and fulfilling a wide variety of commercial credit proposals for corporate banking customers within the Bakersfield region. You will originate, close, and service new and existing business in the market segment assigned, as well as portfolio and risk management.  Actively participates in a business development program to develop new loans, deposits, and fee-based business.  In partnership with Financial Analysts, oversees underwriting and structuring of loans.  Although supported by Financial Analysts, this position is ultimately responsible for credit quality and proper loan structure. Incumbent must understand credit needs of the client, and be able to recommend proper credit structure to meet client’s financial needs.  Actively participates in community, service, and civic events to promote Bank products and services.  

Undergraduate degree in Business, Accounting, Finance or related field preferred, or High School Diploma with minimum of 7 years progressively responsible experience in  middle market lending. Must be able to structure and underwrite loans; make solid credit decisions; and manage credit risks. Must have community involvements and established banking relationships.

Computer proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel required.  The job requires excellent human relations, communications, and customer service skills as well as full knowledge and understanding of industrial, commercial, real estate and term lending and retail products and banking services.  Must possess ability to communicate tactfully and listen attentively to the customer.  Must possess strong ability to make sound decisions with a high level of accuracy and problem solving skills.  Must possess excellent consultative selling skills to acquire and manage new banking relationships.
