Job Title: Commercial Real Estate Analyst
Department: Credit Delivery
Location: Warrensville, OH
Description of Position:
Responsible for analyzing the financial position of both Commercial Real Estate (CRE) and CRE Special Assets clients, consistently applying credit policy to all potential transactions, providing input and formulating recommendations. Responsible for assisting banker with existing portfolio management in accordance with company policy. Consult and collaborate with the CRE team with the goal of mitigating risk.
Prepare timely, complete, accurate, thorough yet concise credit presentations to include financial statement spreads, covenant testing, collateral analysis, obligor/facility ratings, cash flow analysis, and relationship exposure
Collaborate with the Commercial Real Estate Relationship Managers on preparation of Watch and Pass Credit reviews. Attend meetings as a part of the team, participate in discussions and add value to outcome.
Assist with the portfolio management process by providing input and information to the Credit Officer. Gather and obtain information to effectively analyze data and identify credits with significant issues/deterioration that require re-underwriting.
Initiate credit quality issue discussions with appropriate team members as potential risk is identified.
Keep current with commercial real estate underwriting best practices and proactively utilize the knowledge which can be implemented to contribute to successful loan review performance, to effectively and efficiently address regulatory issues and to better understand and improve results. Take action and/or make recommendations to management when applicable. Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or two years comparable experience through credit underwriting, lending or credit approval (Commercial Real Estate experience preferred)
- Ability to learn and use bank systems
- Computer literate
- Solid understanding of credit policy
- Working knowledge of business lending
- Good understanding of business/personal financial statements, tax returns, statement spreading, loan structuring
- Understanding of relationship between various financial documents and ability to draw information from multiple sources based on information provided
- Ability to make accurate assumptions when appropriate
- Efficient and accurate data management skills
- Client facing skills, verbal and written communication
