Job Description
A thriving national company is seeking a Commodity Manager to join their Norfolk team. The candidate will be responsible for sourcing and negotiating contracts for commodities such as software, internet tools, technical and professional services, maintenance, and other products and services. Candidate will perform advanced sourcing services, exercising independent judgment in identifying and evaluating new and existing commodities for future negotiations. This position requires superior analytical skills and communication for effective negotiations and decision making, as well as advanced knowledge of the commodities market. Candidate will effectively communicate relevant procurement information to target audiences, including new and existing contracts, processes, and new programs; analyze and track procurement trends; identify new opportunities for company-wide negotiated agreements; oversee and lead contract negotiations; develop and maintain working knowledge of purchasing commodity strategies, services, and business operations. Candidate must have 4+ years of sourcing experience, strong analytical experience (Six Sigma preferred), proven negotiations skills, understanding of the entire purchasing and payables process, the ability and desire to communication with many levels in the organization, superior relationship building ability, and proficiency in MS Excel and Access. A bachelors degree, experience with PeopleSoft Financials, running queries and reports, and Six Sigma certification is preferred. |
