Scope of Work: Initiates, develops and implements a communication process linking organizational goals with communication objectives, strategies, messages and vehicles. Develop and execute a communication plan for the pharmacy system replacement project with a go-live dates beginning Q4-2010. Researches, writes, edits articles, internal/external publications, speeches and other communication documents. Consults with leadership and subject matter experts to develop strategies, key messages and vehicles for communication to support specific programs. May convene and supervise cross-entity ad hoc teams. Participates in the development and execution of deliverables by serving as communication strategist. Coordinates messages, vehicles and communication policies (e.g., go-live communication plan). May serve as spokesperson to internal and external audiences. May work with leaders and Program Office Communication staff to communicate or prepare information to our members. Required Skills & Experience: Substantial (usually 8+ years) internal and external communication experience in a corporate, agency, IT or health care setting. Significant experience managing and executing communication projects in large, multi-divisional organizations. Experience leading a self-directed team in a fast-pace environment with competing/aggressive deadlines. Ability to ramp-up and learn quickly in order to apply past experiences and skills to the current project. Ability to use judgment to prioritize important and urgent work deliverables. Experience as an internal/external spokesperson preferred. Experience using communicating strategies including developing and maintaining a program website and regular print/electronic communication vehicles. Excellent verbal communication, writing and editing skills. Must be able to work in a Labor/Management Partnership environment. Bachelors degree or equivalent experience in public relations, communications, journalism or related field. Masters preferred.
