Communication Technician Natick, MA

Installs, reconnects, adds and/or changes video products and services in compliance with national electrical code (NEC). Adhere to Comcast procedures and safe work practices, National Electrical Code (NEC), the National Electrical Safety Code (NESC), the Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSHA), Department of Transportation (DOT) and local ordinances. Establishes safe work zones. Connects customer premise video entertainment equipment including but not limited to picture-in-a-picture, home theater, and surround sound as well as the installation of home amplifiers for CPE in multiple configurations. Disconnects all product lines and services. Certifies drop by taking signal levels, checking for ingress, and monitoring and repairing CLI. Performs fishing conduit and underground work. Troubleshoots and repairs advanced CPE, including two way video, residential & commercial customers. Configures & installs complexes & MDU Lockboxes. Handles a variety of customer interactions including but not limited to explaining how to use equipment; describes technical issues using plain everyday language that anyone can understand; answers questions; explains installation charges and monthly billing; collects payments; keeps customers informed of work progress while on premises. Completes required documentation and paperwork, and forwards it to the appropriate departments. Upsells and upgrades company products and services to current customers at every contact. Follows established procedures to refer sales leads. Participates in the on-call schedule. Adheres to Comcast Safety Programs. Performs other related duties. Punctual, regular and consistent.


Required Skills:
High school diploma or GED equivalence. The ability to work in a fast-paced, troubleshooting environment. Prefer at least 6 months of sales experience, including retention, upselling and upgrading techniques. Resolves problems utilizing a well-thought out strategy. Must have strong verbal and written communication skills. Must be able to work in a team environment as well as independently. Fosters an environment that accepts and embraces change. Exhibits behavior that demonstrates inclusion and respect for coworkers, customers, and other personnel. Actively pursues learning and self-development. The position requires both indoor and outdoor work environments in all sorts of weather conditions. Prior work experience in an outdoor environment is preferred. Prior experience utilizing hand tools is preferred. Must adhere to Comcast Safety Programs. All technicians must maintain a weight of 270 pounds or less. Must be able to perform job from high places (on poles, ladders and roofs). Good physical fitness, including the ability to lift and handle ladders and carry loads of at least 70 pounds, is a must. Must have a valid drivers license and a clean driving record. Must pass pre-employment testing. Extensive local travel.
