We are looking for a student interested in an internship at American Heart Association. You will gain valuable insight that will set you on the right track to a successful career in an exciting and fast-paced field.

The Cause Communications Intern will have the opportunity to assist with a variety of projects for Start!, one of the American Heart Association's cause campaigns. Start! focuses on increasing Americans' physical activity. Your duties would include:
' Gathering monthly media impressions for Start! Including Vocus searches
' Assisting with logistics for key Start! promotional windows during Jan and April
' Pitching national media
' Tracking documentation and deadlines
' Assisting with reactive media calls
' Assisting in writing articles (Start! Newsletters, internal emails, etc)
' Assisting in drafting and proofing local Start! media materials and templates
' Updating Survivor database
' Creating Website copy

' College student pursuing a degree in journalism, communications, and/or public relations
' Strong written and verbal communications skills
' Eye for relevant news stories
' Keen attention to detail
' Creative, enthusiastic, flexible, and highly organized
' Project management skills and the ability to meet tight deadlines
' Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment, and to work in teams
' Results-focused approach and committed to go the extra mile
' Proficiency in MS Office applications
