Position Description: Experienced Software Architect needed for M&S development project to build Communications Effects model supporting the Digital Simulation Architecture (DSA) and Single Simulation Framework (SSF). SW Architect will be responsible for development environment and tool selection, high-level software module and interface design, decomposition into lower level CSCIs, and ensuring the end products meet Comm Model functionality and interface requirements. SW Architect will work with Project Lead and SW Lead to define work products, tasks, schedule, milestones, staffing plan, etc. and will provide technical guidance to SW developers, as needed. SW Architect will also be responsible for some development of Communications Model, model-framework interfaces, relational database components, graphical user interface, and/or other CSCIs. The following are the Basic Qualifications for the position: Bachelor's degree in physics, math or engineering and 10 or more years of directly applicable experience. Years of experience may be substituted for education requirement. Successful candidates must work well in a team environment and be able to work multiple tasks simultaneously. Previous Object-Oriented Architecure/Design experience required. Experience developing models in C/C++ or Java required. This position requires a Secret security clearance. Software Architect experience. Demonstrated proficiency in C/C++ and/or Java. Good writing, communication and presentation skills. Desired Qualifications: Communications software experience. High-fidelity simulation experience. |
