Compass is an enterprise-wide initiative to implement a single set of patient administrative systems and revenue cycle processes across the Partners HealthCare System. Compass will enable all of our entities to share common patient administrative information systems. Processes that will eventually fall under the Compass umbrella include: patient scheduling, registration and revenue management. Compass will transform, modernize, and significantly improve our administrative and financial performance.

One of the critical components of the Compass initiative is the integration of Soarian Financial and Scheduling applications with existing enterprise and entity specific systems. The Application Analyst will be part of the Technical Integration team responsible for designing, developing, testing and implementing interfaces and services to support the future state with Soarian. In this role, all existing interfaces and inter-system interoperability must be reevaluated and new interfaces and services implemented to maintain current and future workflows. The goal is to ensure integration standards and data flow between PHS Enterprise systems, hospital entity systems and Soarian applications are standard and adhere to PHS policies and procedures.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

Under the general direction of the Integration Team Lead, the Application Analyst will have the following principal duties and responsibilities:

Assist with activities related to defining, documenting, developing, testing and delivering an integration solution for integration of the PHS enterprise applications, hospital entity systems, Soarian applications and 3rd party vendor complimentary applications.

Plan, manage and oversee assigned project tasks utilizing recognized project management tools and methodologies including activities such as:

- Definition of project scope and objectives
- Management and status reporting tools
- Work flow analysis
- Functional and technical requirements definition
- System testing/quality assurance
- Interface Implementation
- Post-implementation / on-going interface support
- Project administrative activities
- Document management

Perform thorough data integration and system analysis to understand and assess current connections among/between all impacted revenue cycle applications and enterprise applications including, but not limited to Enterprise Master Patient Index, Longitudinal Medical Record, Corporate Provider Master, Peoplesoft and 3M/ClinTrac.

Work closely with entity and system contacts to verify data flowing into and out of affected systems.

Document interface findings and requirements as part of the integration blueprint including detailed interface schematics to document data flow, transaction volumes, frequency, and other considerations.

Extend the conceptual design of the overall integration solution by developing the process, data and application integration components into a functional design taking into account the corporate design technical interface requirements and Soarian functionality.

Validate that the integration functional design meets the overall business process integration requirements and are consistent with the integration conceptual design.

Qualifications:
- A bachelor's degree in Computer Science of MIS, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

- Two or more years of experience in information systems (in a healthcare organization preferred).

- Experience integrating large complex mission critical systems within the Healthcare industry highly desired.

- Proven project management skills on small to medium sized projects required.

- Experience with HL7 standard and XML data format.

- Experience with service-oriented architecture and design preferred.

- Ability to document and communicate the status interface implementation progress against plans and take corrective action as necessary.

- Able to troubleshoot, diagnose and accurately document interface problems and their probable causes.

- Excellent organizational skills with an attention for detail and ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks at the same time.

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including writing technical specifications and requirements.

- Excellent interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with cross functional teams including staff at all levels of the organization including both technical and non-technical personnel.

- Prepare written materials for use in presentations, meetings and final project documentation.

- Complete work assignments in accordance with an established project timeline. Informing manager(s) of issues requiring their direct attention.

- Ability to understand the work environment and competing priorities in conjunction with developing/meeting project goals.

- Ability to work independently or in a team environment.

- Experience with healthcare revenue cycle systems preferred.

- Possess skills in document management to assist with the creation, management and versioning of interface support and implementation documentation.
