Compensation Analyst Senior - Human Resources Compensation

This is a regular, salaried, 8 hour, day shift position, 1.00 FTE, 40 hours per week.
This position is eligible for our full suite of employee benefits, including medical, dental and vision coverage, generous 401 (k) plan, and tuition reimbursement.

Salary Scale: Salary starts at $64,189. Placement within the scale is dependent upon years of work experience. The salary scale is reviewed on an annual basis for market comparison and may change with the market.

This position is part of the Swedish Medical Center Compensation team performing at the senior practitioner level. Responsible for regularly handling special assignments and projects and acts as a project team leader on specific projects and on-going responsibilities as assigned. Provides compensation consulting services to the various Swedish Medical Center business entity services. Review, analyze and evaluate positions based upon job descriptions and on-site audits using established systems and market data, determine grades and salary range, and prepare documentation records of the analysis and recommendation. Complete compensation surveys and market analysis. Assist line management in the preparation or updating of job descriptions. Perform reclassification analysis and processing and determine the exempt/nonexempt FLSA status of each position. Conduct analysis of internal equity by department or job group.

Qualifications:
Baccalaureate Degree in human resources, business administration or position-related field required.

Professional certification in specialty area or course work through the WorldatWork professional association (formerly known as the American Compensation Association or ACA) is highly preferred.

A minimum of 7 years of progressively responsible work within the area of human resources with five of those years of experience working in compensation required.

Proficiency using computers: spreadsheets, databases, and word processing software. Technical knowledge requirements include mathematical and statistical skills for data analysis. The ability to understand and apply the intent of policies, guidelines and regulations in diverse situations. Skill in understanding management principles sufficiently to soundly advise line management in compensation matters. Ability to conceive and present concepts logically for reports and recommendations. A thorough understanding of State and Federal wage and hour laws.

Must effectively manage own time and resources effectively in order to maintain, improve and address the compensation needs of client entities. Requires an inclination for detail-oriented work and written and oral communication and customer service skills to be able to interact effectively with all levels of personnel within and outside of the organization. Leads a team or participates effectively as a team member to achieve team goals and objectives; and completes assigned duties in an accurate, complete and timely manner.

Demonstrated commitment to continuing education is highly desired and encouraged.
