Summary:
Assists in the administration of Human Resources policies and programs including all facets of compensation and employee benefits strategy: merit and equity process, sales compensation adjustments, job description competencies, market studies, program implementation, wellness program, Affirmative Action and FLSA compliance, HRIS administration, and company representative. Ensures HR Department functions through legal and regulatory compliance. Represents the company, both internally and externally, and our core values through everyday actions. Must be able to work independently and exercise sound judgment on a consistent basis. Experienced, multi-tasker is a must.
Essential Job Duties:
- Manages compensation component of performance management process.
- Responsible for compensation structure. Supports management in compensation decisions including but not limited to hire, promotional, equity, and merit. Researches and compiles accurate data to support decisions.
- Accountable for relevancy and accuracy of job descriptions and organizational charts.
- Responsible for HRIS upkeep and maintenance ensuring data integrity.
- Leads Affirmative Action Program including reporting requirements and maintenance of records throughout the year.
- Generates and distributes a variety of standard reports and statistical summaries.
- Contributes to benefit strategy process, both international and domestic, to include design and implementation of various programs including health and wellness.
- Responsible for maintaining employment records and files.
- Maintains effective communication and good working relationships with employees at all levels of the organization including daily interaction with finance and payroll departments.
- Performance will be measured by evaluating deadline dates met, feedback received from customers, and accuracy and punctuality of records maintained.
Other Job Duties:
- May assist in coordination of on-boarding process including but not limited to new hire orientation, paperwork collection, policy and procedure training, and back up coverage for computer training.
- Back up administrator of benefit programs including leave of absence process.
- May facilitate various internal training courses under the direction of the Manager of Training and Employee Development
- Other duties as assigned
Reporting Relationships:
- Receives general supervision from Manager.
- External contacts include vendors, applicants, and professional organizations. Internal contacts include all employees within the different company divisions and levels
Requirements:
- Ability to function independently while maintaining a high level of integrity, urgency and confidentiality
- Critical thinker who is capable of defining and analyzing issues to develop appropriate solutions.
- Minimum of three years experience in the Human Resources industry
- In depth knowledge of HR law and specifically ERISA, FLSA and HIPAA
- First hand involvement with next-generation domestic benefit program design.
- First hand involvement and strong working knowledge of international benefits including but not limited to regulatory issues and design and implementation.
- Intermediate Excel skills
- Proven organizational skills
- Enjoyment in working with details and follow through
- Requires effective oral and written communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills, presentation skills and computer proficiency
- Bachelor’s degree in business, human resources or related field or appropriate combination of education and experience
Preferred:
- HR Professional designation or completion of certificate program
- Prior experience with ADP databases
- Prior experience with an Affirmative Action employer
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to sit at a computer terminal for long periods of time.
- Ability to be physically in attendance at workstation at designated company office location during normal business hours designated for this position.
- Ability to travel less than 15% of the time
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
