Power Generating Company in Michigan's Upper Peninsula is actively searching for a NERC Compliance Manager. Responsibilities - Maintain and manage company's NERC Reliability Standards, MISO and ATC Interconnection Agreement requirements, Regional Entity requirements and communicate with operations and administrative staff
- Chair the newly formed NERC oversight committee and work along side compliance monitor to confirm proper documentation is being performed at the Biomass and Coal-Fired Power Plants
- When called to the table by a regional entity, it will be the compliance manager’s duty to perform the NERC audit
- Training operations on procedures and protocols that currently we are very weak at, from regulatory to market functions
- Coordinate any outages, trips, forced outages, etc. and document as necessary. Manage event logs and get them up to speed in SharePoint
Requirements - Previous experience managing a company's NERC Reliability Standards, MISO and ATC Interconnection Agreement requirements, & Regional Entity requirements
- Strong understanding of power plant systems
- Strong understanding of Voltage and Reactive Control
- Electrical Engineer preferred, but will consider strong power plant background
- Strong documentation skills and computer skills – ability to use Microsoft office, project, SharePoint, AMMS or other maintenance software, and other required software
- Strong communication skills – must be able to be point person in NERC RE audit
- Previous NERC and related auditing experience preferred
- Able to work along side Operations and Maintenance Superintendents
