SUMMARY DESCRIPTION: Responsible for monitoring Portfolio transactions for compliance with internal restrictions, regulatory guidance and regulatory requirements, under general supervision. Responsibilities include assigned projects which will require highly developed problem solving skills, a certain degree of creativity, prioritization, and Team Work.
PRIMARY DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Review daily Portfolio transactions of 40ACT Funds, Institutional Clients, and Managed Accounts to ensure compliance with all relevant internal restrictions, regulatory guidance and regulatory requirements;
2. Analyze, interpret, and convert all relevant investment restrictions into absolute or calculated rules for placement in various Compliance Rule Expert Systems (e.g., Charles River, Bloomberg, and internal systems, etc);
3. Develop, implement test, and audit Compliance rule functionality using a trading system test environment;
4. Communicate new Compliance rules, their source and importance, and advise portfolio managers and traders of any specific implications related to current and future holdings;
5. Review monthly compliance checklists as run through Charles River an automated system and analyze variances; update and test required rules or coordinate update of data with internal and external sources;
6. Responds to urgent requests from portfolio managers and traders regarding portfolio transactional Compliance related concerns; perform overrides as necessary;
7. Maintains awareness of changing U.S. and Global Financial Services industry regulations;
8. Maintains awareness of Fund Prospectus, SAI, Portfolio Operating Memorandum, and internal policies and procedures;
9. Responsible for the coordination and completion of various government and regulatory filings for INVESCO PLC (SEC, Federal Reserve, etc.).
10. Takes initiative with new ideas and continually strives for process improvement to reduce cycle time, incorporate methods to prevent errors, improve output quality and capacity; MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED: Proficiency of the Microsoft Office suite of applications required;
Experience working with 40ACT Funds, Institutional Clients, and Managed Accounts preferred;
Familiarity with a trading systems and Compliance Rule Expert system like Charles River, Bloomberg and internal systems.
WORK EXPERIENCE: Experience within the investments or financial services industry preferred;
Knowledge of securities laws/regulation, as it relates to operations within the financial services industry preferred;
Working knowledge of back office operations and the financial services industry is a plus.
EDUCATION/TRAINING: Bachelor's degree in a relevant field of study required.
LICENSE/REGISTRATION/CERTIFICATION: NASD Series 6 attained within 180 days of employment required;
Advanced professional education preferred;
Certification in a related field of practice is a plus.
