POSITION SUMMARY: 

·         Lead and direct all regulatory compliance responsibilities in support of Company policies, goals and     objectives.

·         This position is responsible for Federal and State compliance monitoring and reporting. Emphasis will be on maintaining and implementing the company’s Compliance Plan and preparing for, supervising, coordinating and responding to state licensing and regulatory audits.

 ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Development of compliance related policies and conducting random audits of files to test compliance
  • Monitoring legal and regulatory compliance of systems and taking necessary action to assure continued compliance to internal and external guidelines/regulations
  • Develop and oversee the delivery of regulatory information and compliance training programs
  • Create and develop vehicles for tracking and communicating compliance performance metrics and statistics as a means of managing risk and assuring effective compliance controls
  • Ensure all licensing requirements are met and kept current
  • Oversees adequate coverage of compliance issues, tests new system releases to ensure documents comply with state/federal laws, and other compliance issues
  • Anticipate and react to regulatory compliance forces that could adversely affect the Firm or its clients through active involvement with industry associations and governmental bodies
  • Coach and develop high performing teams that support regulatory change and the business
  • Develops and implements compliance plans to accommodate Company goals and objectives
  • Management of Licensing division
  • Management of Quality Control function of compliance and underwriting discrepancies

 

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 5 to 7+ years mortgage banking experience in the area of compliance, legal or another mortgage banking function offering large exposure to legal and regulatory compliance requirements
  • 17+ years in the mortgage industry, with an emphasis regulatory compliance and operations
  • Must have a working knowledge of state and federal compliance requirements including Reg Z, RESPA, Reg C, fair lending requirements, GLB, CAN-SPAM, ECOA, PMI, FDPA, FCRA, etc.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
