Summary of work to be performed:
- Develop and execute computational strategies in pursuit of protein modeling, structure-based, ligand-based, focused compound and chemical library designs broadly applied to lead generation & optimization.
Specific duties:
Work with TransTech scientists in;
- Lead discovery activities, identifying active compounds and building target - binding hypotheses using TransTech’s Tapered® platform. Develop enabling technologies that build on the existing proprietary TTPredict® technology platform.
- Lead optimization activities for one or more TransTech drug discovery programs, employing computationally – based methods to improve potency, efficacy, and/or ADME properties of lead compounds, in agreement with goals and objectives of the program team.

Education/Experience requirements:
Experience and skills:
- Strong expertise in protein modeling, docking and scoring, and binding energy prediction
- Experience with pharmacophore & QSAR/QSPR model development, de novo approaches, bioinformatics/chemoinformatic data mining and modeling methods.
- Knowledge & experience in the application of relevant computational chemistry software from Chemical Computing Group, Accelrys, Tripos, Schroedinger, OpenEye, Daylight/MDL, AMBER/CHARMM, AutoDock, GOLD, etc.
- Knowledge & experience in statistical techniques that include SVM, Neural Nets, Genetic & Evolutionary algorithms, Random Forest, etc.
- Familiarity in Unix/Linux operating systems with proficiency in modern scripting languages like Perl/Python and programming languages that include Java, Fortran, C/C++.
- Knowledge of organic and medicinal chemistry
