Computer Forensics Data Collection Engineer I - Kroll Ontrack - Secaucus, NJ
About the Job
Computer Forensic Field Engineer is primarily responsible for on-site data capture in a wide variety of dynamic environments and maintaining the integrity of the capture using established processes and procedures such as chain of custody. Secondary responsibilities include supporting lab operations and research & development activities.
Responsibilities
- Provide professional, efficient and effective on-site data capture services for customers following departmental guidelines, accepted protocols, processes, and Chain of Custody.
- Provide effective, accurate and professional communication with customers through all forms of communication including direct contact, voice, e-mail, fax, etc.
- Provide effective testing and validation of computer forensics hardware and software.
- Provide effective research and development solutions for the computer forensics operations group for both lab and field operations.
Business Travel Requirements: 50-90% business travel may be required to conduct on-site data collections, depositions, testimony preparation and appearances in court. On-site data collections can be conducted at any hour, on any day or night, and for several hours at a time. Some data collections may span multiple days. Some onsite data collections may involve law enforcement agencies. May include both domestic and international travel.
Work Schedule: This position does not have a traditional Monday-Friday work schedule. Work schedules will be established on a case-by-case basis but are likely to deviate due to travel requirements. Work may be performed at any time with minimal notice, including weekends and holidays and may be performed on any shift.
- Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university in a related field, or a technical school certificate in information technology or related areas, or 3+ yrs. relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum of 1 year hands-on experience in a technical IT environment working with server and/or network setup; experience with LAN support, troubleshooting, auditing, security risks.
- Administration of Windows based systems and networks.
