Responsibilities
* Install and manage a large number of SQL Server databases across multiple servers.
* Perform database integrity checks, optimizations, performance tuning, and troubleshooting.
* Develop, implement and manage custom backup/restore and disaster recovery plans.
* Install, configure, administer and secure Microsoft SQL Servers.
* Identify and resolve issues related to availability, accessibility and data integrity.
* Implement and administer data replication between SQL Server databases and other heterogeneous data stores.
* Develop and support SSIS packages, SQL Agent jobs, stored procedures, scheduled tasks, batch jobs, and other database processes and workflows.
* Migrate DTS packages to SSIS.
* Facilitate the management of databases and servers by the use of SQL scripts.
* Upgrade databases from earlier versions.
* Participate in database support activities throughout the full lifecycle of a project.
* Perform routine and periodic database maintenance.
* Maintain optimal database performance by troubleshooting and resolving SQL Server and networking latency issues.
* Provide On-call Production Support as needed.
* Recommend and use database administration tools to improve support effectiveness and minimize downtime.
* Provide guidance in adhering to database standards.

Qualifications
* 5+ years of hands on SQL Server experience
* Strong working knowledge of SQL 2005/2008 and its related tools (e.g. SSMS, SQL Profiler,etc.) as well as the component services (e.g. SSIS, SSAS, SSRS)
* Experience with the installation and configuration of SQL Server, as well as the application of updates and patches
* Competence in database configuration and management
* Experience with Microsoft SQL Server 2005 in a clustered environment
* Experience working with very large databases
* Extensive physical database administration experience supporting MS SQL Server database systems on the Windows 2003 and 2008 platforms.
* Thorough experience with Microsoft SQL Server 2005 and 2008 from concept to deployment
* Competence in overseeing the integration of databases and other various data sources
* Strong working knowledge of SQLLitespeed
* Competence in migrating databases and their dependencies between servers
* Competence in building database instances and database clusters
* Competence in creating and using SQL scripts
* Experience designing disaster recovery and contingency plans
* A strong background in accepted database design standards, including Normalization
* Good written and verbal skills
* Strong Team and organization skills
