Computer Scientist III
Atlantic City, NJ 08401

ASRC Management Services, a wholly owned Subsidiary of ASRC Federal, is currently seeking a Computer Scientist III  at Atlantic City International Airport in Atlantic City, NJ.

 

 

 

 Essential Job Functions

 

  • Perform systemwide analysis and functional allocations, business process modeling and reengineering, internal operating systems, databases, and network architectures.
  • Using prescribed methods and information furnished, develops draft inputs to program documentation as it relates to any of the support functions.
  • Performs assignments on a broad range of tasks associated with the implementation of standards techniques, procedures, and criteria as they apply to technical tasks.
  • Develops new technology, modifies the structure of existing software products, and provides technical guidance to complex projects.
  • Reviews final draft documents for conformity to requirements and completeness.
  • Tracks preparation and delivery status of required deliverables.
  • Attends and may lead meetings, design reviews, working groups and briefings.
  • Reports issues and problems and recommends solutions.
  • Normally reports directly to a senior official. 
  • Performs other related duties in line with tasks assignments.

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

 

  • Applicable functional areas include superior proficiency and knowledge of the NAS system hardware and software,  knowledge of FAA procedural requirements, real-time design and development, testing and interface of software and computer hardware systems, regression impact analysis, reliability, maintainability, human factors, standardization and other reengineering regarding FAA missions and NAS systems.
  • Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Math, OR  other technical degree with a minimum of thirty (30) semester hours in a combination of mathematics, statistics, and computer science and twenty (20) years of related work experience in a computer science or math field.

 

OR

 

  • Masters Degree in any field of study with a minimum thirty (30) semester hours of either undergrad or grad study in a combination of mathematics, statistics, and computer science AND eighteen (18) years related work experience in a computer science or math field.
  • Experienced in C programming language; C, C++, Perl, Java, XML
  • Ability to work with undocumented code;
  • Database design - Oracle, SQLite; Linux OS; XML / Fuse ESB; Coldfusion; Web Services development. 
  • Application and OS (Linux) development and maintenance using C;
  • Database design and optimization;
  • Developing Web Services with XML and Fuse ESB
  • Highly technical computer scientist possesses certification in core avionic systems relative to the National Airspace System (NAS) programs and its state-of-the-art systems.
