Our Mission Research division through its RAD contract provides research, systems engineering, software engineering and technology assessments to numerous Federal government organizations including the CIA, DIA, DHS and FBI with the NSA serving as the sponsor. The primary objective of this contract is to conduct research based efforts that will benefit the NSA and Intelligence Community at large. These services include complex inter-agency and intra-agency enterprise architecture definition and assessments; technology research; agile software engineering and development; technology solution deliveries; design of interactive user interfaces; integration of analytic tools and data visualization capabilities.
To support these initiatives, our customer typically requires highly skilled software developers with a working knowledge of a broad range of programming languages, operations systems and leading edge technology. Additionally, staff must be comfortable working in a research environment.
POSITION DESCRIPTION:
Developing algorithms to operate on large volumes of operational data, in the hundreds of petabytes, presents many challenges and offers the greatest potential for discovering patterns and anomalies. This research will investigate advanced parallel programming techniques for implementing analytics that can effectively run on petabyte-scale operational data sets.
BS/MS required in Computer Science, Mathematics, Computer Engineering or related technical
5 years+ experience doing software development
Java SE
Strong understanding of algorithm development
Strong skills in debugging, performance measurement and tuning
Strong technical record of achievement

DESIRED EXPERIENCE:
Direct experience with Hadoop, HDFS, Hive, Pig
High Performance Computing (HPC) experience with supercomputers, Grid, or other highly concurrent applications.
