| Description | |
| Performs systems analysis, design, troubleshooting, implementation, repair, and maintence for all assets and systems on the network. Provides installation, integration, configuration, administration, and maintenance support for department information and network systems. Researches, analyzes, and evaluates systems and recommends hardware and software upgrades. Ensures compatibility of system and applications software. Defines and resolves software problems. Designs, codes, and debugs custom applications. Coordinates testing of new and revised systems. Assures network and systems integrity, reliability, and security. Provides information necessary for creating and updating system hardware and software documentation. Remains current with technology by attending seminars, conferences, and workshops. Reports activities and statistics on system access and usage. Communicates with management on a daily basis, responding to all oral and written requests. Performs other related duties as assigned. Major Duties: 1) Provide Tier 1 and Tier 2 support services to all network customers and workstations. 2) Provide software and hardware technical support, configuration, administration, and troubleshooting. 3) Provide preventative maintenance inspections for all hardware and software including, network devices, video teleconference (VTC) equipment, servers, printers, and workstations. 4) Support help desk and maintain help desk software and data as required. 5) Maintains standard image for all workstations meeting DISA and NETCOM requirements. Works with Information Assurance team to scan all new images to meet these requirements. 6) Supports custom programming of web pages, software, and applications as required. 7) Researches, analyses, and makes recommendations to support hardware and software upgrades and break-fixes. | |
| Education | |
| Minimum of Associates Degree, certificate from technical training institute or training equivalent. | |
| Experience | |
| Two years experience workstation, network, or server administration, and programming. Must have excellent communications skills, and be able to coordinate multiple projects simultaneously. Must maintain professional interpersonal skills, demeanor, and appearance. Should be experienced in the use of Microsoft Office applications. Video Teleconference administration prefered. Understanding of inner workings of VTC infrastructure, both in theory and practice. | |
| Special Requirements/Certifications | |
| Certifications required in Network+, Security+, and SAII at a minimum or needs to be obtained within 120 days of hire. Certified in DVSII, Tandburg, Polycom, or MCP will receive preference. | |
| Physical Requirements | |
