JOB DESCRIPTION:
Software Systems Analysts to join the planning team. Analysts investigate customer business tasks, review the Corporation’s printer and multifunction printer hardware features, and plan the software that allows the devices to complete these tasks. For systems already in operation, analysts work to improve efficiency, speed, and usability.
After presenting plans and roadmaps to management, the analysts then prepare software specifications, process diagrams, and system flow charts. Analysts make recommendations to management concerning the full range of software roadmaps and design objectives.
KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Analyze business tasks and new hardware features and plan printer or multifunction printer software to complete these tasks.
· Develop software requirements and basic system design from original research, hardware and firmware specifications, market research, and discussions with stakeholders.
· Conduct shareholder interviews by phone and in person to uncover insights into customer perceptions, problems, and workflows to better understand how applications should be tailored to our customer’s needs.
· Articulate product goals, schedules, and requirements to design and engineering teams and assure development of the product meets market needs.
· Break down requirements and development plans into steps and collect information about what has to happen at each of these stages.
· Design and refine software requirements with software modeling method like UML (Unified Modeling Language) in cooperation with software architects and team leaders.
· Create, maintain, and revise software requirement specifications and roadmaps. Review technical specifications for completeness and accuracy.
· Ensure that requirements are satisfied by functional specifications, design documents, and finished products.
· Review all product deliverables throughout the SDLC to assure the offering is complete, and meets general and specific customer and country needs.
· Prepare weekly and monthly status reports to management, reviews project status reports for section, prepare and report project schedules for software projects.
· Act as liaison to development and planning departments in Japan regarding technical issues and requirements.
QUALIFICATIONS:
· An undergraduate degree in computer science or a related field is required.
· 3 to 5 years of programming, development, software product planning, or quality assurance experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
· Experience in the printer/copier/scanner business is highly desirable.
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills are a must.
· Ability to work independently and manage projects efficiently is required.
· Experience leading project of about 30-80 developer months is desirable.
