Job Description :



Manage all configuration management (CM) aspects for a large, highly diverse and geographically distributed system development team/project. Mentor members of the technical staff in CM processes and principles. Key responsibilities:

- Serve as the system administrator for configuration management systems such as Subversion.

- Enter Engineering Change Request (ECR) data into the ECR database and maintaining the database over time.

- Guide the identification of configuration items and entering metadata describing each of the configuration items into the asset tracking database and maintaining the database over time.

- Serve as the coordinator, facilitator and secretariat for Change Control Board (CCB)meetings at the project and subproject levels creating CCB agendas, taking and publishing meeting minutes, and updating ECR status.

- Ensure the configuration of the system is fully defined and controlled on an ongoing basis,

- Generate configuration management reports as required supporting CM related activities.

- Perform periodic audits to ensure the configuration of the system is accurate and consistent.







The work location is Washington, DC with occasional business travel to California, Massachusetts and Washington state .









Required Skills :



Bachelor's degree with a minimum of



4-6 years of configuration management experience. Must have experience with modern systems engineering methods for configuration management of hardware and software systems. Must have a solid understanding of configuration management principles and practical experience in configuration management on large scale systems consisting of software and large hardware components.







Desired Skills :







Experience with Subversion or a similar configuration management tool is desired. Experience with an automated configuration management tool is desired. Excellent written and verbal communication skills and strong interpersonal skills preferred.
