The New Energy Alliance (NEA) is a joint venture between Balfour Beatty Infrastructure, Inc. and M.J. Electric, LLC, a Quanta Services company to support the delivery of National Grid’s U.S. electricity capital investment program in New England. The project is for the design and build of substations and transmission lines in the New England region.
Position Summary:
The Construction Manager T-Line provides oversight, coordination, management and technical expertise for all aspects of field T-Line construction, maintenance, modification and replacement. This individual is responsible for facilitating proper and timely communications between all field employees and the Superintendent.
Essential Duties:
Works with Superintendent and customers assuring crews and subcontractors are working efficiently to meet contracting requirements, budgets, forecasts and schedules;
Integrates safety into projects plans, establishes safety goals, reinforces safety policies, supports safety trainings and corrects unsafe conditions;
Assist with the coordination of bidding of T-Line construction, maintenance, modification and replacement projects, if appropriate;
Ensures that NEA and MJE Senior Management are kept current on the progress of construction projects, business opportunities and industry trends;
Systematically and regularly appraises and evaluates progress against goals, timelines and objectives. Provides assistance to Assistant Construction Managers to correct deficiencies in these areas;
Program based responsibilities, may have multiple projects concurrently of various size & scope;
Responsible for all field labor, tools and equipment;
Promotes and develops common systems and processes to provide for proper accounting, reporting of projects costs, customer billing, scheduling material procurement, record keeping, and documentation budgeting by Project Managers;
Interfaces with key customers and ensures construction activities are communicated and understood;
Assists in hiring, orientation and career development of T-Line field personnel;
Ensures key project input including environmental, regulatory and governmental relations, public relation and landowner concerns are addressed on construction projects throughout the region;
Assists in developing and tracking key performance metrics with achievement of established KPI’s;
Monitors equipment type, purchases, usage, inspection, maintenance and servicing;
Additional duties and special projects as assigned.
Qualifications:
Required:
5-10 years T-Line construction, maintenance, modification and replacement experience.
Must have strong technical background in T-Line construction, stringing methods & maintenance of assets.
Extensive project management skills with a track record of achievement of complex projects.
Knowledge, interpretation and administration of collective bargaining agreements.
