Construction Project Manager

About the Job

Universal Safety Response, Inc., A Smith & Wesson Company, located in Franklin, Tennessee is a turnkey provider and leader in access control, outdoor perimeter security integration and physical security solutions.  Our company is growing rapidly and has immediate availabilities in Construction Project Management. 

Project Managers must hold a Bachelors degree in construction technology, engineering or related field (Masters preferred) from an accredited curriculum and have a minimum of ten years of managing multiple, complex projects valued in the millions.  Preferred candidates will possess the PMP or PgMP certification; Army Corps of Engineers and Department of Defense experience is a MUST.  Also, the ideal candidate will have expertise in MS Project, excellent written and verbal communication skills as well as strong analytical and problem solving skills. 
 
The role of the Project Manager is to plan, execute, and finalize projects according to strict deadlines and within budget.  This includes acquiring resources and coordinating the efforts of team members and third-party contractors or consultants in order to deliver projects according to plan.  The Project Manager will also define the projects objectives and oversee quality control throughout its life cycle.
 
Duties and responsibilities include:
• Creation and execution of project work plans and revision as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements.
• Identifying resources needed and assigning individual responsibilities.
• Managing day-to-day operational aspects of a project and scope.
• Identifies business development and add-on sales opportunities as they relate to a specific project.
• Facilitates team and client meetings effectively.
• Holds regular status meetings with project teams and associated departments.
• Delivers engaging, informative, well-organized presentations.
• Understands how to communicate difficult/sensitive information tactfully.
• Challenges others to develop as leaders while serving as a role model and mentor.
• Manages day-to-day client interaction.
• Sets and manages client expectations.
• Continually seeks opportunities to increase customer satisfaction and deepen client relationships.
• Conducts effective performance evaluations and mentors those with less experience through formal channels.
Army Corps of Engineer and Department of Defense experience A MUST
• Candidates must be willing to travel at least 50%
