Job Description


KEY RESULT AREAS:

The purpose of the CI Engineer is to be a key player in the support and development of Jonesboro’s CI structure. The CI is a power user of improvement tools focused on optimizing manufacturing performance (Quality, Cost, Delivery, Safety, and Morale) and is responsible for transferring skill capabilities to team members. The CI will investigate, initiate and execute projects and programs to deliver business strategies through optimum manufacturing. The CI will provide technical expertise in processing, packaging and distribution to business units and operations at the plant level. Champion best practices from across the company while staying current on emerging technologies and innovative practices.


PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Lead the improvement in productivity of all assets (people, equipment, materials, and time) for the Jonesboro facility through identification and implementation of best practices.
  • Realization, development and implementation of productivity ideas and cost savings projects for the facility. Work towards achieving the plant conversion productivity target by closing potential gaps.
  • Provide technical expertise to operations in all areas of the plant through knowledge of process engineering, cereal technology, capacities, capabilities, yield, cost, people systems and overall unit operations.
  • Identify and facilitate the execution of local investment projects in the plant and ensure follow up occurs on a timely basis.
  • Support the Quality, Cost, Delivery, Safety, Morale principles and line start-ups.
  • Work on minor capital projects that are primarily CI driven.
  • Manage capacity utilization through process flow optimization, bottle neck analysis, and Lean Manufacturing strategies to release trapped capacity and increase OEE.
  • Stay current in emerging technologies and innovative practices.

OTHER DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Take ownership of daily downtime meetings and ensure follow up is completed on a timely basis.
  • Provide leadership, coaching and guidance to assigned starpoints for improvement of the starpoints and overall effectiveness of the Jonesboro Team.

SCOPE DATA:
  • Work closely with technicians and management team to support continuous improvement in all aspects of the facility, the business and day to day operations.


Job Qualifications


EDUCATION: Bachelor’s degree; Engineering degree preferred

EXPERIENCE: Manufacturing Preferred, Lean training or certification

SKILLS: Project Management, Microsoft Office Suite, facilitation, organization, attention to detail, ability to lead, work, and mentor others in a High Performance Team environment
