Database Marketing Analyst
JOB SUMMARY: Staples Contract Division Marketing Team is looking for a Database Marketing Analyst who will play a critical role in the development, implementation and management of Database Marketing activities. This initiative is a top priority for the business and we are looking for a strong individual contributor with relevant direct marketing experience seeking a role where he/she can make a difference. Development and Implementation Phase Responsibilities
- Play a critical role in the creation, development and implementation of the Contract Marketing Database.
- Provide database marketing subject matter expertise during solution development.
- Participate in User Acceptance Testing process, audit and validate data.
- Assist with day-to-day project management of deliverables according to timeline of internal cross-functional and vendor teams.
- Support the Contact Management strategy, process and implementation.
On-going Responsibilities
- Partner with marketing managers to develop marketing campaigns that drive incremental sales and revenue using direct marketing principles. Participate in recommending and developing segmentation strategies, targeting criteria and testing plans to achieve division learning objectives.
- Manage timelines associated with campaigns, ensuring that all activities occur as planned and that campaigns are executed on time.
- Perform list selection using Marketing Campaign tool.
- Analyze and audit list selection output to identify any data anomalies.
- Generate, review and analyze marketing campaign results using Reporting and Analytical tool. Develop insights and recommendation for program improvement.
- Drive continuous enhancements of customer database content, selection techniques and reporting.
- Provide ad hoc reports for Contract Marketing division as need be.
- Maintain and enhance Contact Management strategy.
QUALIFICATIONS: - 3-4 years in Marketing Analytics, Database Marketing, Campaign Management and Reporting.
- Must have Direct marketing experience with large scale complex programs.
- Strong hands-on technical/analytical skills using Campaign Management and Reporting Software (Alterian, Unica, Epiphany…), spreadsheets, databases, statistical strongly preferred
- Must have strong working knowledge of all MS application and superior Excel and Access skills
- Experience working with complex data sets in either an analytical or list selection role.
- Analytical thinking and problem solving ability computation/mathematical ability to create and comprehend marketing response and profitability reports.
- Ability to manage multiple projects at once with a sense of urgency required to work in a deadline driven environment.
- Diligent, flexible, resourceful, independent worker with a strong work ethic.
- Strong communicator capable of delivering concise messages to various audiences.
- Positive attitude, team player with professional demeanor.
- Intellectual curiosity and strong willingness to learn.
- Bachelor’s degree - preferably with concentration in Business, Marketing, Economics or Statistics.
