Job Description:
Louisiana FastStart seeks Contract Instructional Developers and Contract Trainers to develop and deliver job-skills training to LED clients’ workforce in the areas of manufacturing/production operations, business/industry organizational development, quality management systems, and digital media/gaming development support.
The ideal candidate will possess a strong customer service orientation, attention to detail, exceptional communication skills, and interpersonal skills. Contractors may be assigned to multiple projects and must have an ability to work independently while balancing their workload and meeting tight deadlines.
Louisiana FastStart Contract Instructional Developers and Contract Trainers will work, under guidance from Louisiana FastStart project managers, with companies throughout Louisiana. Contractors may be based anywhere within Louisiana (or near proximity.) The ability to travel in-state with multiple overnight stays is required.
Desired Skills and Experience:
Minimum requirements include direct work experience in manufacturing/production operations, and/or business/industry environment, and/or digital media/gaming environment (note preferred experience) and proficiency with MS Office Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
Instructional developers should have experience in:
· Training needs analysis
· Task analysis
· Independent subject research
· Processes documentation/technical writing
· Creating standard operating procedures
· Development of tiered training modules incorporating ISD/adult learning methodologies for classroom and OJT delivery
Training experience should include delivery of customized job skills and/or performance enrichment training to the adult learner in classroom and on-the-job (OJT) settings.
A related degree is preferred, but job experience and specific job training certifications and certificates carry equal weight.
In addition to the above requirements, preferred knowledge and experience for specific areas include:
Manufacturing/Production: At least 5 years experience in any combination of the following:
· Process documentation and training
· Standard Operating Procedures (SOP)
· OSHA safety
· Computer Numerical Controlled (CNC) equipment
· Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs)
· Automated manufacturing processes
· Electrical and mechanical fundamentals
· Troubleshooting operations
· Warehousing and logistics
Quality Systems: At least 1 year of experience with:
· Basic problem solving and root cause analysis
· Statistical control concepts
· Lean tools and techniques
· ISO series (especially in automotive, food and/or medical device industries)
· Six Sigma Methodologies
· Process mapping
· Documentation and recording control concepts
Business/Industry Organizational Development: At least 3 years experience in headquarters operations, telecommunications, technical support centers, and/or call support centers with:
· Leadership skills development
· Team skills development
· Interpersonal skills development
· Customer contact skills enhancement
· Group Facilitation
Digital Media/Gaming: At least 1 year experience in digital media, video game development, application development and/or technical support centers with:
· Programming & Development
· Computer generated art and illustration (CGI)
· Quality Assurance and Testing
