Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Lead the overall management  for assigned co-manufacturers and address issues with internal and external stakeholders

  • Develop & execute strategies for assigned category and project scope to achieve business objectives and benefit targets

  • Maintain external / marketplace awareness related to trends within responsibility scope and supply chain best practices

  • Proactively engage internal stakeholders to communicate new product solutions based on category and lead the co-manufacturing sourcing solution

  • Participate in appropriate business team meetings to ensure engagement and manage relationships with internal and external key stakeholders

  • Work with Sara Lee subject matter experts to gather and assess business requirements

  • Research, analyze, and develop contract manufacturing capability profiles and develop detailed co-man cost models

  • Develop total cost of ownership cost models for strategic product lines

  • Manage commodity market fluctuations and understand how this effect co-manufacturer's cost models

  • Find manufacturing solutions for capacity constraint product categories

  • Maintain and develop co-man contracts within the S2C Tool

  • Work with internal stakeholders to develop, communicate and execute category implementation plans

  • Establish on-going category management strategies

  • Implement and maintain contract manufacturing Key Performance Indicators and track performance relative to metrics

  • Review performance data with Co-Manufacturers and key internal stakeholders

  • Address and resolve issues related to material / service delivery to business partners

  • Monitor Sara Lee and supplier compliance with supplier agreements related to assigned scope area

  • Drive identification and development of lean manufacturing solutions with strategic co-manufacturers

  • Provide first point of issue resolution for co-manufacturing service and quality issues

  • Lead or participate in Cross-Functional Category Teams across business units as required

  • Support all sourcing and innovation projects

  • Work across the supply chain to identify, develop and implement lean manufacturing opportunities and solutions

  • Execute ongoing category activities within assigned scope to achieve business objectives and benefit targets

  • Align key initiatives with the appropriate Marketing Business Unit and develop implementation strategies, responsibility assignments and establish timelines for completion


  • College degree required; Engineering, Supply Chain Management or Research & Development preferred

  • Self motivated

  • Excellent communicator

  • Must be a quick study

  • Proven ability to manage change

  • Ability to work across boundaries and borders

  • Strong decision making skills

  • Politically persuasive

  • Demonstrated collaboration and teamwork skills
