Contract Program/Project Manager

About the Job

Big-company reach, small-company attitude! AAI Corporation, an operating unit of Textron Systems, is currently recruiting for a Program/Project Manager for our Utah location. The Project Manager will be responsible for working with the program management staff on business capture plans, preparing and presenting briefings to potential and current customers, preparing proposals, and managing support contracts. Will lead a technical team responsible for all engineering development, as well as logistics and training material and ensuring all products are conducted in accordance with Government regulations and standards. Will have direct responsibility for all proposal and program cost, schedule and technical performance and may be responsible to interface with customers. Additional programmatic duties may be assigned.  This is a 4 - 6 month contract position.

Required Skills

  • Working knowledge of AAI systems, methods, and products.
  • Working knowledge of AAI policies/procedures, military and commercial specifications.
  • Working knowledge of standard software packages (spreadsheet, data base, word processing, etc.) and mainframe computer programs; e.g., AAIMS.
  • Analytical skills to recognize potential and existing problems/challenges and make timely decisions to assure their resolution.
  • Written and oral communication skills to assure clear and concise direction.
  • Ability to plan, organize, prioritize, coordinate, and execute plans/tasks.
  • Ability to comprehend and interpret cost/schedule data and financial reports (i.e., PFR, CPF, MF79, Impromptu, etc.).
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical/electrical sketches, drawings and specifications.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of the team.
  • Working knowledge of government requisitioning procedures, reviewing/interpreting government contract requirements and associated FAR's.
  • Working knowledge of engineering requirements and processes, provisioning, configuration control, property accountability, etc.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen and be able to obtain unescorted access to Hill AFB Manager with above average energy level and a desire to excel in program management.
  • Basic understanding of CMMI requirements, ISO standards & compliance and Supply Chain Management theory.
  • Understanding of Sarbanes/Oxley and other legal compliance requirements.

  • Earned Value Management (EVM).
  • Government Acquisition. 
  • Risk Planning, Mitigation and Reporting.
  • Pricing/Estimating techniques.
  • Metric Plan Development.
  • Project Change management. 
  • Requirements Management.
  • Team development.
  • Project team leader with unique ability to motivate/make accountable a team consisting of diverse technical background and experience.
  • Proficient MS Office suite.
  • MS Project proficiency a must.

Must have PMI certification. Must have, and maintain a valid driver's license and provide a current copy of driving record at least annually. Will take a physical examination and a drug test. 

Note: All candidates must be a U.S. citizen with the ability to obtain/maintain a government security clearance.
