For nearly 30 years, Columbia Medical has been a manufacturer of medical rehab equipment and has established itself as a leading manufacturer of medical equipment.  Our company manufacturers and provides rehab pediatric/adult seating and positioning products with the goal of supplying life enhancing quality products. 


 


The role of the Independent Representative will be to increase sales, by maintaining current key accounts and prospecting/growing new accounts.  The individual will execute sales strategies and transfer Columbia Medical equipment to and from accounts. 


 


Sales Process  


1-Referral Source: The sales process consists of calling on and detailing Physical and Occupational Therapists which are located in a hospital, clinic or special needs school settings.  The Independent Representative will discuss the features and benefits of how our equipment will help solve an issue with a daily activity that the therapist’s patient is having.  The therapist then prescribes a durable medical product to help with the daily activity.


2-Dealer: The prescription is given to the patient or caregiver who in turn takes it to a Durable Medical Equipment Dealer who files the appropriate paperwork with the patient’s insurance or other funding source.


3-Columbia Medical: The dealer then orders the product from Columbia Medical.  Some of the rehab dealers have their own reps who also call on the therapist. 


 


Responsibilities:



Establish territory call pattern and build relationships with physical and occupational therapists as well as medical equipment dealers.


Interact with and receive support from Columbia Medical Regional Sales Manager




Qualifications:



Minimum 1-2 years of sales experience, preferably medical DME, rehab, RTS or Pharmaceutical


High School Degree or Equivalent


Must have a mini van, SUV or van.


Able to handle physical moving and lifting up to 50 lbs.

Must have a valid drivers license and be insured
