Contractor Special Security Officer - CSSO

The CSSO is responsible for providing security support for Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) level programs and administers the personnel security and daily operations of a Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility (SCIF) and a Top Secret Collateral Closed Area.  This includes ensuring compliance with federal regulations governing SCI and Top Secret Collateral accesses, indoctrinations, debriefings, document accountability and related facility accreditations.  He/she conducts security related liaison work with internal and external customers or government security officials; provides security training, leadership, and coaching to project managers, teammates, and employees; administers appropriate and up-to-date security educational briefings and other related duties as required to assure the maintenance of a comprehensive security program.
 
The CSSO is also responsible for physical security, document management, and security education/training for SCI programs and conducts investigations for security violations as necessary.  Develops and implements SCIF related policies and procedures and modifies as required.  Reviews SCIF security practices and provides suggestions for improvement.  Ensures that acceptable SCIF security standards and functions are maintained in accordance with established Company and Governmental policies and applicable legal requirements.  Trains company personnel associated with government contracts administered under SCIF controls.
 
Primary Responsibilities:
 
·         Manage the day to day operations of the McAfee SCIF
·         Manage & Protect the Safeguarding of SCI level Classified Material
·         Maintain SCI Security Program Policies & Reports
·         Personnel SCI Security Clearance Processing and Administration
·         Security Awareness Education & Training
·         Information Systems Security Manager for SCI Classified Automated Information Systems
·         Communication Security Manager for SCI programs
·         Maintain Physical Security & Access Control Requirements
·         Government Security Liaison for SCI Programs

• Must be a US Citizen.


• Current TS/SCI clearance, based on a Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) with Polygraph.


• Minimum of three years+ of hands-on, progressive, experience as a CSSO in an industrial security environment.


• In-depth experience with the National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM), Director Central Intelligence Directives (DCIDs), and other related Federal security directives and regulations.


• Experience with Joint Personnel Adjudication System (JPAS) and Joint Clearance and Access Verification System (JCAVS).


• Must be familiar with access control systems and functions, CCTV, guard force management, security operations and functions in an SCI environment.


• Able to function independently, under pressure and perform multiple functions and duties with minimal supervision or guidance.


• Completion of relevant Defense Security Service (DSS) security courses within past two years.


• Excellent communications skills at all levels of management.

 
Additional Desired Qualifications:

•  Knowledge of physical and personnel security and investigations.


• Facility Security Officer (FSO) certified.


• Communication Security (COMSEC) certified.


• Multiple professional certifications desired.


• Proficient in the use of the MS Office package - Word, Excel, Power Point.
