Within Deloitte & Touche, our Control Assurance practice identifies, develops, and tests internal control policies and procedures within business process and information technology environments. These services may be provided as part of an internal audit or audit of financial statements, or as individual projects resulting from major organizational changes, implementation of new technologies, or reliance on third-party service providers. In addition, we provide assurance in connection with custom system development projects and applications requiring the testing of data quality and integrity.
Companies face an increasing variety of internal control requirements today
, including those associated with Sarbanes-Oxley, as well as other industry and control requirements. Our Control Assurance practice works with organizations to effectively leverage controls to meet requirements and to benefit the business.
Services include:
• Compliance Controls Reviews, including readiness services for addressing requirements, such as Sarbanes-Oxley
• Data Quality and Analysis
• System Project Assurance
Responsibilities:
- Track requirement funding to execution of budget and accounting for resources
- Contribute to a strong client relationship through interactions with client personnel
- Understand engagement as it relates to client's business
- Demonstrate knowledge in some areas of industry or functional specialty
- Assume responsibility for small components of engagements. May have greater role on small engagements
- Contribute to engagement planning and ensuring that products/deliverables meet contract/workplan
- Deliver services that meet Deloitte & Touche LLP task leader specifications
- Report writing capability
- Contribute to a positive team attitude
Deloitte & Touche's dynamic Federal Practice based in Washington D.C. and the surrounding Metropolitan area has opportunities for you to become part of their high-quality team that delivers innovative solutions to key Federal clients in audit and accounting, financial management and business process improvement.
Federal Controls Assurance Consultants must have the following required skills:
- 2+ years experience auditing business process or IT internal controls in compliance with Federal Yellow Book and GAO (FISCAM) guidelines
- Knowledge of Sarbanes-Oxley Section 404 and/or OMB Circular A-123 documentation, testing and reporting requirements with Federal government clients
- Experience assessing design and operating effectiveness of internal controls, and developing recommendations for improving controls
- Knowledge of risk assessment and/or enterprise risk management concepts.
- Bachelor of Science/Business Administration with a concentration in Math, Computer Science, Information Systems, Finance, Accounting or Business Administration; Masters in Accounting or Information Systems, or MBA a plus
- Demonstrated leadership, problem solving, and strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Candidates must be eligible to receive a Federal security clearance.
- Candidates must have prior Federal consulting experience.

- Ability to prioritize tasks, work on multiple assignments, and manage ambiguity
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team with professionals at all levels
- Candidates that possess a Federal Security Clearance
- Prior professional services experience
Candidates must reside in the Washington DC
metropolitan area and be open to travel
