The Controller position is an outstanding growth opportunity for a high energy, driven individual looking to join one of the most exciting clean energy start-ups. Reporting directly to the Senior VP of Finance, the selected candidate will have the ability to handle a fast-paced, start-up environment with proven technical and process improvement skills.
Responsibilities:
· Responsible for timely and accurate financial closings and preparation of all related financial reporting packages in accordance with GAAP.
· Supervision of A/P, payroll and office management functions
· Establish and maintain appropriate accounting policies, procedures and controls related to the Company’s general ledger, purchasing, travel expense report processing, accounts payable, payroll, fixed asset and equity related functions
· Identify and implement process and system improvements that continually support the Company’s growth requirements
· Assist in the forecasting, budgeting and analysis of operational performance including project-based spending
· Oversee cash management processes, reporting and reconciliations
· Lead role in ensuring an efficient annual audit process
· Oversee preparation of all tax-related returns and filings
· Assist in the review, procurement and maintenance of corporate insurance and benefit programs
· Handle a wide range of miscellaneous financial and operational special projects
Qualifications:
· Minimum of seven (7 +) years of experience with at least three (3) years of experience in a supervisory role
· CPA with minimum of 4 years in public accounting
· Extensive knowledge and adherence to current GAAP requirements; strong working knowledge of SOX and public company reporting requirements
· Excellent attention to detail required; ability to multi-task
· Solid financial modeling with demonstrated analytical and problem solving skills
· Excellent written and communication skills
· Experience in QuickBooks or other accounting software required
· Experience in Paychex, ADP or other payroll software desired
