Controller
Established consumer goods Import and Distribution Company in Orange County, CA seeks a seasoned, hands-on Controller with experience importing and distributing to retailers in the consumer packaged goods industry.
Assist President in implementation and execution of Management responsibilities. Duties will include managing accounting department and daily accounting activities. Will also oversee and administer Warehouse, Inventory and Purchasing departments to ensure checks and balances. This position reports directly to the President.
Day to Day Responsibilities:
Monthly, quarterly and year end closing
Implementing controls and checks and balances to insure AP and AR and tasks accurate and processed timely
Preparing and distributing full and detailed financial reports on a regular basis
Ensuring that the department staff is utilizing and implementing Company policies and procedures
Cost accounting in an importing/distribution setting
Fighting and preventing chargebacks received from retailers
Inventory control
Setting and achieving financial goals and objectives with Sales department
Requirements:
Accounting degree with 5 years of relevant experience (3 years supervisory)
Experience importing consumer goods and distributing to national retailers a must
Experience with accounting software applications, Crystal Reports, MRP
Ability to establish, implement, and evaluate short and long-term financial plans
Strong leadership, presentation and communication skills
Must be detail oriented, able to work under regular daily pressures and meet deadlines
CPA a plus
