The Controller/Director of Finance is responsible for all of the financial affairs within the organization including the preparation and reporting of financial statements and analyses of operations, general accounting, cost accounting, cash management, accounts payable, accounts receivable, capital expenditures and treasury.

The Controller/Director of Finance manages the IT department and is responsible for developing and implementing a robust IT and technology strategy for the company and helping to ensure the company is properly leveraging the capabilities of its ERP system to maximize it's financial results and customer service.

This position requires the individual to manage external relationships with CPA firms, banks, investment advisors and business insurance brokers.  

Duties & Responsibilities: 

• Responsible for all facets of financial operations inclusive of Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable,  Cost Accounting, General  Ledger Accounting, Financial Planning, Capital Investments, Treasury and Cash Management.


• Maintains strong system of management internal controls to safeguard company assets, ensure amounts and accounts are properly recorded and ensure budgeted expenditures do not exceed amounts authorized.


• Implements and directs robust revenue, expense and capital expenditure budgetary system.


• Responsible for providing financial and operational reports to management - weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annually. 


• Prepares reports which summarize and forecast company activity and financial position in areas of cash, income, expenses, and earnings based on past, present, and expected operations.


• Advises management on desirable operational adjustments due to tax code revisions.


• Manages the preparation of reports required by regulatory agencies.


• Acts as immediate contact with the company’s CPA on accounting matters.


• Exercises staff supervision over the Accounting and Information Technology Departments.


• Directs and has overall responsibility for appraising operating results in terms of costs, budgets, policies of operations and incurred profit opportunities.  Makes specific recommendations which will result in cost reduction and profit improvement.


• Advises management on insurance coverage for protection against property losses and potential liabilities.


• Advises management on investments and treasury strategies for short- and long-range financial plans.

 Education/Skills/Experience:

• Bachelors Degree in Accounting or Finance


• Strong computer skills are essential


• Strong interpersonal and leadership skills


• Minimum five years experience in management of accounting or finance related activities.


• CPA/CMA certification a plus


• Minimum ten or more years experience in accounting or finance related activities with a medium to large manufacturing environment. Preferred


• Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts.  Ability to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as costing, analysis of variance and factor analysis.
