POSITION FUNCTION:             

 

Under the guidance of the Senior Vice President & Treasurer, develops, plans for, coordinates, and manages directly the Bank’s accounting functions and related records and documentation.

 

PREFERENCES:

 

·         Bachelors Degree minimum

·         Proficient in Microsoft Office

·         Knowledge of database programs (Crystal Reports)

·         Financial management experience – minimum of five years

·         Detailed knowledge of FASB and GAP Accounting as well as Asset / Liability

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

 

1.      Oversees and manages financial controls functions to meet established requirements in order to provide optimum profitability for the Bank.

 

2.      Oversees the day-to-day activities of the Accounting department and staff. Manages directly and through subordinate managers the financial activity of the Bank.

 

3.      Develop, maintain and control accurate and timely reporting systems in conformance with internal and regulatory requirements.

 

4.      Represents the bank’s financial position to the public, regulators, and associations to maintain and expand relationships.

 

5.      Participate in asset liability management modeling and reporting.

 

6.      Ensure the reconciliation of asset and liability accounts and follow up on unresolved items.

 

7.      Oversees and directs the budget process.

 

8.      Delegates responsibilities to subordinates, provides for related training, evaluates individual performance and implements approved Personnel actions.

 

9.      Researches and develops procedural changes and work methods to improve departmental productivity.

 

10.  Coordinates financial activities with other bank functions.

 

11.  Provide department and branch profitability analyses.

 

12.  Maintains personal job knowledge and management skill at a level needed to meet requirements of the position.

 

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

 

1.                   Hand dexterity required to operate computer terminal and/ or related equipment.

2.                   Eye Coordination required to operate computer/teller terminal.

3.                   Drives to and attends meetings as required.

4.                   Moves around bank between levels or floors while performing duties.

5.                   Bending and stretching in work area.

6.                   Sitting at desk or computer work station for periods of time.

7.                   Lifts books, ledgers, records, etc.

8.                   Walks around bank location in the performance of duties.

9.                   Speaks and listens to customers and explains Bank services.
