Controller- Healthcare
This position is accountable for the accounting operations of the company, to include the production of periodic financial reports, maintenance of an adequate system of accounting records, and a comprehensive set of controls designed to mitigate risk and enhance the accuracy of the company's reported financial results.
The Company is national and growing at a rapid rate. Position is open to due to the person in this role being promoted to another area.
RESPONSIBLITIES
- Manages the accuracy and productivity of day-to-day activities of accounts payable, cash disbursements, invoicing/billing, customer credits and collections, payroll, perpetual inventory integrity, fixed asset records, general & entity accounting, cost accounting, etc.
- Develops, improves and issues timely monthly financial records
- Interfaces with outside audit firms(s), banks and lessors, casualty/liability insurance agent(s), credit card companies, etc.
- Safeguards assets and assure accurate and timely recording of all transactions by implementing disciplines of internal controls across departments
- Provides a visionary and leadership implementation role on behalf of Finance and Accounting
- Ensures compliance with local, state, and federal reporting requirements.
- Establishes and implements short- and long-range departmental goals, objectives, policies, and operating procedures.
- Designs, establishes and maintains an organizational structure and staffing to effectively accomplish the department's goals and objectives.
- Performs all other related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Business Administration required.
- 8-10 years of progressively responsible experience for a major company or division of a large corporation.
- Healthcare ore related experience is a must.
- Requires knowledge of principles of financial management sufficient to direct professional staff and the ability to develop annual budgets, analyze financial data and patterns and prepare financial statements.
- Must be familiar with healthcare-related terms and the various components of managed care.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications required.
- Master’s degree in Accounting or Business Administration preferred.
- Former public accounting experience preferred.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
