CONTROLLER
SUMMARY OF POSITION
Provide leadership and accountability for day to day operations of the operations finance department; assist in financial and managerial internal or external reporting as directed by Director of Finance.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Position general responsibilities are as follows:
· Manage operational finance staff in functional areas as assigned by Director of Finance.
· Work with the Vice President of Operations to ensure operational decisions are financially sound.
· Manage the capital spending of the organization, including budgeting and forecasting.
· Assist Director of Operations and Director Materials on setting production levels, forecasting spend, and the budget process.
· Responsible for managing the operations data, including metrics, strategic deployment and operations finance objectives.
· Complete or oversee functional duties or tasks as required to complete month end process, including internal management reporting in the areas of operations finance.
· Willingly assist others as necessary to meet deadlines.
· Assist Director of Finance in directing finance functions, including maintaining an organization’s accounting principles, practices and procedures.
· Involvement in Sarbanes-Oxley internal documentation, testing, and process change management involving operations.
· All other duties and responsibilities that are reasonably assigned by the employer or its designee
· Departments this position supports are as follows, but not limited to, are: manufacturing, purchasing, materials, supply chain, cost reduction, sales order administration and engineering.
· Number of Direct Reports: 2-3+
· Approximate Number of Indirect Reports: 5+
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
· Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance
· MBA preferred
· 7+ years of accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing or public accounting environment
· Must be able to manage multiple functions and meet deadlines
· Must contribute to a favorable work environment
· Must rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goal, either as directed or as self-identified
PERFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
· CPA and/or CMA preferred
